We have heard the feedback from players looking for a second evening at a similar pace to Tuesday evenings, and this Friday we are starting the Friday Evening League. The aim for this session is to offer a second night of at least 24 boards for our more experienced players, in a similar style to Thursday evenings before COVID. 

Each Friday Evening session will be at least 24 boards long, and playeres will earn pointas towards the quarterly league. Points will be awarded as follows:

• 1st place: 10 points
• 2nd place: 6 points
• 3rd place: 4 points
• 4th place: 3 points
• Over 50%: 2 points
• Under 50%: 1 point

At the end of each quarter (the first being July to September) four prizes will be awarded:

• The Champion - The highest overall points total
• The Biggest Winners - The largest winning margin to second place 
• The Best Hand - The best played hand (as judged by Stuart and David)
• The Eventer - The highest point total from monthly events (see below)

The Best Hand

Each quarter we are looking for submissions for well played, bid or defended hands! The hand must be played on a Friday Evening and should be submitted with a brief description of the bidding and/or play. You can submit at most one entry per evening you play for either yourself, your partner or even your opponents! 

After the end of the quarter David and I will select a shortlist of (up to) four hands (we will select two each without dicussing) from those submissions and will decide on a winner from amoung them. 

The Eventer

The final Friday evening of each month will be a special event in its own right, and have its own selection of prizes as usual, but you will also earn points towards the overall winner and The Eventer quarterly prizes!

The Friday Evening events for the first quarter are:

• Friday 29th July - IMP Pairs
• Friday 26th August - Janette Haynes Trophy
• Friday 30th September - The Individual
